This amphora depicts an Arctic scene. Five bands of animal frieze show Arctic animals of the sky, land and seas. Teams of Alaskan Malamute sled in a snowy scene. On the neck is a sun dog.

Inspired by an Early Corinthian black-figure amphora at the Walters Art Museum in Baltimore (48.2033).
